Our first trountainbiking expedition a couple weeks back was a bit alarming, with Balti riding over a very large tiger snake (and nearly falling on top of it), and then sighting another dozen snakes causing us to retreat back down to lower altitudes where we managed to bag a few nice brown trout.
With the first breath of autumn though, we felt happier setting off in the dark that the snakes would still be in bed. Up high it was actually quite cool and the rainforest was glorious after rain. Balti caught an absolute stonker with his very first cast, and we got enough rainbows to fire up the smoker. We also got completely mauled by leaches, and both of us bled all the ay back to Melbourne.
