There was a bit of snow around for this year's opening weekend: not so much that we felt we had to be out skiing each day, which meant we got a lot of work done on the house. I finished the barn doors, ML did heaps of painting, and I got the sisal laid down on the stairs.
We had our first family ski tour up to Dead Timber Hill with me towing Lucie and Balti from a harness on the way up, and then loving the way they flew back along the icy track in full tuck in the dark on the way home. Charlotte has become very capable skinning and climbing on her new Fishers.
We had some really good meals, and caught up with heaps of crew including Scotty and Kirst and children who are up for the whole season. The kids all had a blast, and the fireworks were great.
Although the weather turned pretty feral after Saturday, we had a reasonable ski up at Big D and the Sun Run Sunday, and then just a few cruisers on Monday with the kids all right in to it. And I am now officially hooked on telemarking.
Some big fires, and special family times. Here's to a great season!
